When looking up is your only option!

I had the pleasure of reading a blog the other day and it truly inspired me to start my own. So I prayed and God lead me to start with the beginning.

In 2008 I was struggling with different captors bound by many chains. As the year ended I could feel God pulling me closer. What a wretch I was. Countless sins that, at the time, I perceived as a normal way of life. See if you grew up anything like me, then you know all to well the struggle. Faced with broken homes, the anger and violence. For me it didn't stop there. See growing up without a father my heart yearned for a love that abandoned me.

You may still be in a place where your current situation, your circumstances seem normal. I have one question for you.... Have you ever dreamed of more? I have. I dreamed of a day where my heart could be filled with love that would leave me so satisfied, I wouldn't dare continue searching. I dreamed of a life that would give me peace and tranquility. I desired more. I couldn't accept that my life would be defined by the many mistakes I had made. Little did I know I could have what I desired and so much more!

In 2 Corinthians 6:17 it says,
Therefore, "Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you."

Do you want your life to change? Try God! He will not disappoint you. Change will require sacrifice. There will be some things that you have to let go of. Some people who can't go with you. It's okay. The bible speaks about bad company corrupting good character. This is true. You are who you hang with. Read 1 Corinthians 15:33. Make a decision to separate yourself for your own sake. God's hand is not too short to save. If you think he can do it all for you. Your wrong! Very wrong. You have to remember that the most important thing is a relationship with God. Like any relationship there is the understandable give and take. A balance must be maintained so neither party bears more weight than the other.

I will leave you with the scripture that saved my life.
James 4:7 reads, Submit yourselves, then to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you!

My spirit leaps with joy everytime I read this scripture. A simple reminder that no matter how much power the devil "thought" he had over your life, he is nothing when you choose to resist him. He will flee from you!! How much hope does that give you right now? Let that hope spring forth for in it lies your strength. All of your life is determined by the choices you make from day to day. Why not start this year by making postive changes to bring about a change that you desire. Find people who want to go where you are going. Stay away from negativity. Get into the habbit of praying and studying the word of God. These are all ways to live a life full of prosperity and peace. Joshua 1:7-8 gives you the secret to success. Apply it! Whether you are a newborn baby in Christ or maybe you just need a stirring in your spirit! I urge you to see the endless possibilities given to us by an All Powrful God. His love is everlasting, forgiving and abundant in mercy.
